Northstowe_town_squareDid the last Northstowe Parish Forum have a different feel to it?  ‘I felt there was a more collaborative feeling about progress’ says Lynda. ‘That is not to say that there won’t continue to be very close scrutiny of how things will move forward but I felt that, for the first time, there was an acceptance by Officers and the Joint Developers that the only way that real progress will be made is through truly engaging with the residents of the villages that will be affected.’  Subsequent to the workshop that was held for members of the Northstowe Parish Forum on 18 May there has been one other ‘officer only’ meeting but it was stated that officers do not think that this added much and that these meetings would now be discontinued.

The county council’s cabinet this week added a sensible rider to its decision regarding the first primary school at Northstowe. It was asked to endorse a proposal that the school should be ready in either 2016 or when the 100th dwelling is occupied, whichever is earlier. The former date despite development of the new town being expected to start in 2013.
