Actually it was not changing lamp posts - there never were any as this stretch of road is not lit. It was telephone poles being replaced after having been knocked down by vehicles colliding with them. However, whatever the actual circumstances, a BIG thank you to everyone concerned in reinstating the stop from all the local residents

Following from CCC:
'I am awaiting formal consent from the Internal Drainage Board and the contractor's target cost, plus there are maintenance works planned for Cottenham High Street so the earliest that we can start the middle section is 14th November.
I hope to have the formal consent any day now, and the contractor's price on Wednesday.
In summary works on the middle section will be starting before Christmas.'

Hi ... Any update on whats happening? The stretches that have been built to date are great, but it all seems to have ground to a halt with a whopping gap in the middle of the completely unlit section which remains narrow, bumpy and dangerous. Thanks ....

I believe that this has all been sorted with only minor incursions onto the main cycle way.

Butt Lane: it's waiting for a developer contribution. These sometimes take a little time.

As the Chairman said at the meeting, that was the last Council meeting at which he’d seek to suspend the standing order as the next Council meeting (24 November) will vote on changing the standing order in favour of openness.

Totally agree that "something needs to be done". We need to keep the pressure on the developers and help build the necessary community spirit that can make this job easier. Orchard Park Community Council has been an excellent start in this regard. They meet monthly and are made up of local residents. Would you consider joining? Jonathan

All of the design ideas and decisions are fine, however, when are you people going to be held to account for the state of the 'common' land surrounding the dwellings? The grass has been cut once this year - all along the northern edge of Kings Hedges Road is a disgrace, the weeds and rubbish along the guided bus route makes Orchard Park look really unattractive - even as a resident.
I invested over £350k in a property here 4 years ago - lucky to get £300k if I could sell it! An absolute disgrace with roads unfinished, street lights not working, litter everywhere, zero amenities but we do have two hotels - a lot of use to us residents! DO SOMETHING!

I find it hard to understand how this situation has arisen. Surely the contractors should have known the issues before they quoted the work.
I also have seen no further news of completion of the Butt Lane cycle path. Very disappointing.

And I hope a stop sign and white line across the access road to remind them not to swing out. Not all cyclists will be on the path, especially if the drains are not working.

I did see them out with their shovels - once. But they did eventually roll back their grit and the grown grass to the full width of the path.
